You will feel better if you notice the sweetness of life.

Not all movies make me feel inspired. When I watch DVDs at home, I usually opt from something supernatural to action. Teen flicks, romantic comedies are not really my cup of tea. Some of them I find cheesy, too shallow or unrealistic for a relationship. Yes, I am that picky and when I watch something, it’s like I’m bound to give the film a review that may make or break its existence.

Fantastic Four (or any genre synonymous to it) creates a huge bother in my mind. I wonder why I don’t have supernatural powers. Like, why can’t I be invisible? Why can’t I say “FLAME ON” and just flame on? Superheroes. They have this tendency to make you feel invincible when in fact they’re not. Every hero has a kryptonite.

Last night I watched Mannequin, a film from 1987 which my mother used to watch a ton of time when I was little. I was not fond of it because of course, I hardly understood the context. It was painfully boring for me then.

However, NOW is DIFFERENT. After watching the film, I felt inspired and enthused. I was even envious of Emmy (played by Kim Cattrall). Mannequin made me realize that love really is simple. It’s the people and the situation that causes the complications. The world has forgotten the notion that sometimes its okay to be vulnerable, to give in and just be happy.

These days it’s all about being smart. Smart enough to be in a relationship where you don’t get the short end of the stick. Smart enough to settle for someone who loves you more than you love them. Smart enough to treat a bond like “Two Can Play That Game”.

But life is not a game.

We should be able to love without the worry, without the stupid rules that bitter bitches and assholes created. It took me so long to understand that when you’re in a relationship, you might as well give it your all. Give it your best shot, hope for the best and enjoy every friggin' second of it. Yes, it may end but what if it doesn’t?

Pareho lang ang iiyak mo. Kalahating pagmamahal man ang pinakita mo o hindi.

Hello, Jonathan Switcher!

Yes, I got all this from watching the movie.
